Field trip report
Qutub Shahi Tombs
The Aga
Khan Academy junior school students went to an educational trip to “Qutub Shahi
Tombs”, on second working Saturday 29, August, 2015.It was an interesting trip
as we all students went for the first time along with our teachers to learn and
have fun together.
It was
a very informative trip to know in detail about the fine restoration work done
by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC).The trust has spent more than 100 crores
of rupees to revive the ancient historical monument of great international
acclaim. It is working in close collaboration with the tourism department of
Telangana government for his significant project.
The
restoration work is carried out at a very fast pace using the old indegenious
techniques so that the effect remains authentic and original. The architecture
is a mix of Indian and Persian. The minarets and the entrance are symbolic of
Persian-Arabic architecture where as the Indian floral designs decorate the
rest of the structure.
The guide
said “The Qutub Shahi rulers used the most conventional tiles and techniques to
build the tombs.” This was clearly evident in one of the most recent built
tomb, which is 350 years old. The Persian art has lot of tessellating shapes.
It was amazing to see the tessellating art.
Overall
it was a very enjoyable and relaxing trip. We all were given refreshments by
our teachers to energize ourselves after a long walk. We all returned back to
the school campus by late afternoon and made meaningful connections of our
learning.

Field
Trip to HAM station-Radio.
The grade5
students of Aga Khan Academy went to a field trip related to media unit to HAM
station with their teachers-Ms.Safura and Ms.Moushmi. We went on 16th
September 2015, on Wednesday.
It was very informative trip to know in
detail about radio as a media worked by 3 scientists-Herts, Armstrong and
Marconi. The radio system was started in 1923 but experiments started from
1920’s.The 1st radio got invented in 1918.There are lots of types of
radios. We learnt how radio works, how is it important and useful, what does it
do more, etc.
The HAM station institute still call
experts to make radios. Many people had also come for the workshops here. It
takes 1-2 days to make a radio. The radio devices can be made after the age of
12 but in foreign country like America radio devices can be made after age of 15-16
years.
The person who shared
information with us said “Amateur radio is friendly, scientific, fun-loving,
high-tech activity and is popularly known as HAM radio."There was also a presentation shared about
radio through which we acquired lot of information. We also asked some
questions based on radio and he answered them all.
At last, I would like to thank
a lot to Ms.Safura and Ms.Moushmi that they took us to a wonderful field trip.
We all enjoyed a lot and had a splendid experience of having so much
information about radio. We then returned back to the school.
We had
an amazing field trip!!
